CBD Types: Full Spectrum vs. Broad Spectrum vs. Isolate
Not all CBD is the same. And, since there's various types of CBD available to you, such as cannabidiol and sleep disorders products, it can be useful to become educated in how CBD products are made.
Three common CBD types are full spectrum, broad spectrum, and isolate, and each is made through a different extraction method. If you're not clear on which type you will benefit most from, read on, and you'll learn the difference between the three of them.
CBD Infused Oil — Full Spectrum vs. Broad Spectrum Vs. Isolate
So, what is the difference between the three?
- Full Spectrum
Full spectrum CBD extract contains all the natural compounds found in the cannabis plant, which includes:
- Essential oils
- Other cannabinoids
These all work together to enhance each cannabinoid's potential therapeutic benefits. This is often called the "entourage effect."
It's previously thought isolate CBD was more effective than in its full spectrum form, but this theory was debunked in 2015 by a study conducted by Jerusalem's Lautenberg Center for General Tumor Immunology.
Researchers, in the study, found participants who were provided with full spectrum CBD experienced greater levels of relief than those provided with CBD isolate. Also, the results of the study found the full spectrum CBD, at higher doses, provided enhanced effects.
- Broad Spectrum
Products containing broad spectrum CBD contain a range of terpenes and cannabinoids, but no THC. In other words, broad spectrum is the same as full spectrum, but with zero THC. Manufacturers have to place their products through extra processing to create broad spectrum CBD and isolate, and eliminate as many traces of THC as possible, but preserve the other terpenes and cannabinoids. Broad spectrum CBD is a great choice for people that can't have any THC in their bodies whether for legal, medical, or personal reasons.
Isolate is the extraction process where manufacturers isolate CBD in the cannabis plant from the rest of the compounds. Once manufacturers extract and separate CBD concentrate from the rest of the plant's compounds, they then put it through a winterization process that will extract any remaining terpenes, waxes, or cannabinoids. This will make a CBD product that will test as great as 99% pure CBD.
Which Is Better For You?
There's a lot of controversy on which type of CBD is best. Some research, like the above 2015 study, tend to favor the full spectrum CBD. Many individuals believe other compounds, particularly THC, are needed for activating every potential benefit of the cannabis plant. But, ultimately, each individual is different, and must decide for themselves which will better suit their own individual concerns and needs.
CBD-Infused Pillow — Your Convenient and Easy CBD Delivery Method
Chances are if you're been hearing about the wonders of CBD, you probably heard about CBD-infused oil. However, there are various other delivery methods of CBD like vaping, edibles, and topicals. Now, the newest delivery method to come around is the CBD pillow.
The pillow's treated textiles touch your hair and skin, causing friction. This friction then goes on to break the microcapsules inside, which releases microdoses of CBD into your system while you sleep at night.
This is where your body is rewarded with all the potential therapeutic properties whether you're wanting to experience the power of CBD for anxiety, or CBD for sleep. Perhaps you're experiencing pain or depression, or have inflammation. Regardless, CBD-infused pillows can help you get the potential healing powers of CBD while you're getting a good night's sleep.
